The company behind the Plan B pill is now seeking to remove warning labels and warnings about it eliminating the possibility of pregnancy to rid themselves of the belief that Plan B is an abortion pill, even though it prevents pregnancy. Now, new labeling suggests that the drug prevents ovulation and says nothing about making it impossible for the embryo to attach to the uterine lining properly. Just The News reports, “The FDA, in its updated guidance on the Plan B pill, had erased any mention of the possibility that the drug might prevent a human embryo from implanting in a woman’s uterus, thus effectively functioning as an abortion drug.” This is precisely what the Plan B pill does. I know someone that has taken it before. Previously, the company also admitted that it functioned like this. Just the News says, “Earlier warnings from the agency had said that the drug ‘may prevent a fertilized egg from attaching to the womb (implantation).’” [tweet_embed]December 27, 2022[/tweet_embed] The agency behind the pill indicates that no research links the medication to preventing pregnancy. A statement from the agency says, “evidence does not support that the drug affects implantation or maintenance of a pregnancy after implantation; therefore, it does not terminate a pregnancy.” The Hill points out, “Plan B prevents pregnancies by temporarily delaying the release of an egg from an ovary, thus stopping an egg from becoming fertilized by a sperm. The drug works best when taken within three days of unprotected sex, with the manufacturer advising that it works better the sooner it is taken.” [tweet_embed]December 27, 2022[/tweet_embed] Not only is the wording on the packaging changed, but the leaflet has also changed. The FDA has effectively scrubbed anything that mentions that the pill may impact pregnancy after ovulation.
