Movie director James Cameron made an odd statement recently when he said that testosterone is a toxin that men should try to get out of their system.

The Daily Wire reports that Cameron said this while interviewing The Hollywood Reporter about the second film of the Avatar series. This movie has been in the works for over a decade and is expected to hit theaters later this month.

Cameron said he might still be in a honeymoon phase with Disney. He also said the honeymoon might be over if his movie didn't make any money. He also stated that he has reformed and changed some as he has gotten older. Cameron is now 68 years old and no longer feels the need to go on F-bomb-laden shouting matches with executives.

While he was on this tangent, Cameron also said the following, according to the Daily Wire:

"A lot of things I did earlier, I wouldn't do — career-wise and just risks that you take as a wild, testosterone-poisoned young man."

And he followed it up with:

"I always think of [testosterone] as a toxin that you have to slowly work out of your system."

During the same interview, Cameron says that Leonardo DiCaprio's "diva-like attitude" almost cost him the vital role of Jack in the Titanic movie.

Cameron says that the first meeting with DiCaprio went very well, and he was even amused that so many women suddenly found a reason to be in the room (they wanted to glimpse DiCaprio).

He said:

"So the meeting was funny, because I'm in my conference room waiting to meet an actor, right? And I look around, and all the women in the entire office are in the meeting for some reason. Like, there's a female executive producer, okay, fine. But our accountant? You know, why was she in the meeting?"

However, he said that the diva attitude that DiCaprio put on was a turn-off for those behind the Titanic movie, and it nearly got him booted from the role that he was playing.

DiCaprio thinks of himself as above auditioning for parts, according to Cameron's telling of things. That is why he doesn't necessarily want to work with him again. However, Cameron also seemed to blame DiCaprio's attitude on an overabundance of testosterone in his system.
