Fox News Digital could not independently confirm that Rekabi's home had been destroyed, but it has been reported as such by many media outlets within Iran.

Instead of wearing a hijab during the competition in South Korea, Rekabi opted to simply wear a headband. This caused a stir in the international headlines and coverage of the event. People worldwide began to wonder out loud what might happen to Rakabi due to her choice to defy Iranian law on this matter.

Numerous videos appeared on social media of excited supporters greeting Rekabi at Tehran's Imam Khomeini International Airport when she returned home.
She used her social media accounts to post the following, according to the New York Post:

"I am endlessly grateful for the support of you, all the people of Iran, the most decent people of the planet, athletes and non-athletes, and all your support in [the] international community."
However, she later appeared on state television and stated that she simply forgot to wear the hijab. She was arrested in her father's house in Zanjan after the incident.

Among the things she is prohibited from doing include using her cell phone or communicating with international media outlets.
