Roast Of The Century: Elon Musk Takes On NYT With This Claim

Elon Musk voiced his opinion about how he feels about the New York Times, according to reporting by the Blaze.

He stated that he feels that the newspaper is a "lobbying firm for far-left politicians." These comments come after the paper declined to run a story about the Twitter files that Musk discovered within the company that he now owns. Those files appear to show information about Twitter's attempts to avoid covering the Hunter Biden laptop story in 2020.

E-mails discovered by Musk appear to show that members of Joe Biden's inner circle reached out to Twitter and asked to "review" certain tweets about Hunter Biden's laptop. They looked at those tweets, and many were deleted at the Biden campaign's request.

Journalist Matt Taibbi noted that then-President Trump had access to Twitter for such requests and that the company honored those requests, but it wasn't on equal footing.

The Blaze reports that Taibbi reported it this way:

"This system wasn't balanced. It was based on contact. Because Twitter was and is overwhelmingly staffed by people of one political orientation, there were more channels, more ways to complain, open to the left (well, Democrats) than the right."

Outkick.com founder Clay Travis noted that the New York Times is void of stories about the trove of e-mails discovered by Musk regarding the Hunter Biden situation.

Musk replied to Travis' discovery on Twitter by tweeting:

"The New York Times has become, for all intents and purposes, an unregistered lobbying firm for far-left politicians."

The Blaze searched the New York Times website for any references to the Twitter Files on Friday and Saturday, but this yielded no results. It seems like the New York Times simply does not want to cover the story at all. That is in line with their previous policies to avoid talking about the Hunter Biden controversy as much as possible.

Fox News cited the Media Research Center's Alex Christy and found that the major three networks: ABC, NBC, and CBS, all appeared to have ignored the Twitter Files story on Friday morning.

Fox News says they reached out to the New York Times for comment on the lack of reporting on the Hunter Biden story, but they did not hear back by the time their story went to press. They have avoided answering any questions about their lack of reporting on the Hunter Biden story yet again.
