You’re not going to believe what they say.

Elon Musk continues to promise free speech to Twitter users, and he’s delivering. The latest plot twist involving the Twitter platform involves the actions Twitter took to suppress the story of the Hunter Biden laptop before the election.

Matt Taibbi released all of the emails in a massive Twitter thread. Per The Blaze, “‘The ‘Twitter Files’ tell an incredible story from inside one of the world’s largest and most influential social media platforms. It is a Frankensteinian tale of a human-built mechanism grown out the control of its designer,’ Taibbi wrote, summarizing the documents.”

First, emails were released that showed one executive or politician asking that another’s tweets be deleted. For example, Biden could ask to delete tweets from conservative candidates. Then, the journalist gets into the laptop story.

The Blaze says, “‘Twitter took extraordinary steps to suppress the story, removing links and posting warnings that it may be ‘unsafe.’ They even blocked its transmission via direct message, a tool hitherto reserved for extreme cases, e.g., child pornography,’ Taibbi wrote.”

The primary reason for this was that the information was allegedly misinformation and spread via hackers. There was also a story about Russia attempting to influence the election.

Per the NY Post, “Several Twitter sources reportedly told Taibbi that they remember hearing about a “general” warning from federal law enforcement in the summer of 2022 about foreign hacking, but no evidence has been found about government involvement specifically centered on The Post’s story on Hunter Biden’s laptop.”

It continues, “A final part shows emails from Carl Szabo of the research firm NetChoice that say Democrats are angry and want more moderation to dissuade conservatives from posting disinformation.”

The complete list of emails is available to view on Twitter. It details how the Biden administration worked with top officials on the social media platform to squash the story, just like they did other social media platforms.
