Just Keeps Getting Better: Twitter ENDS 'Mis-info' Policy, Allowing More Free Speech

Twitter will no longer enforce its policy of banning so-called "Covid misformation."

The company previously had a policy of not allowing what it deemed to be misinformation about the COVID-19 virus from being passed along on its platform. However, the new owner, Elon Musk, feels that the policy was overly broad and that it denied many people from expressing their opinions about one of the most hotly debated topics in the world.

Just the News reports that some public health experts are expressing concern about what it might mean for Twitter to permit people once again to say what they please about COVID. However, free speech advocates claim it is a big win for their cause because they feel that their opinions have often been barred. Many are tired of hearing about what they are or are not permitted to talk about on their social media accounts.

The Associated Press reported that the following notice appeared for users of Twitter:

 WATCH: "WE WILL OPEN YOU UP LIKE A SOFT PEANUT"bell_image

"Effective November 23, 2022, Twitter is no longer enforcing the COVID-19 misleading information policy."

Dr. Simone Gold offered his opinions about what was going on when he tweeted the following:

"This policy was used to silence people across the world who questioned the media narrative surrounding the virus and treatment options."

Dr. Gold is a COVID lockdown critic and states that his conservative group "America's Frontline Doctors" was silent in many ways when they attempted to offer treatment methods and other information about how to handle COVID-19 that did not involve getting the vaccine.

Just The News reports that epidemiologist Eric Feigl-Ding didn't take the News either. He tweeted that it was "not good" to allow people to tweet what they please about COVID-19 again. However, he also encouraged people to remain on the platform, tweeting:

"Stay folks — do NOT cede the town square to them!"

Twitter started the process of baring COVID misinformation beginning in December 2020. However, many states say that these plans have caused certain free speech rights to be curtailed.
