New York Times columnist David Brooks isn't holding back what he thinks about guns, which isn't a pretty sight.

He stated that he would be personally willing to give up certain privacies to have a "European-style" standard of gun control in the United States. He believes many of his fellow Americans are with him on this, even if they don't say so outright. Alright, buddy, whatever you say.

Brooks spent much of his adult life as a conservative, but the Blaze reports that he is also known for having said:

"to be a conservative today, you have to oppose much of what the Republican Party has come to stand for."

Thus, it doesn't necessarily seem like he is completely in line with many conservative values. He appears to be more than happy to step out on the conservative movement when it fits the agenda of the point that he is trying to make.

He recently appeared on PBS Newshour with William Brangham and stated the following:

"We have a lot of guns [in] this country, too many guns in this country, and too many unregulated guns in this country,"

He was then asked what he would like to see President Biden and the Democrats do about it, and he complimented the gun legislation that this liberal government has already passed. He also stated that he wanted to see things go even further. That someone like this can make such claims and not get checked on them is astounding, but that is what he continues to do to this day.

He stated that he is willing to give up certain privacies if it means that he feels that the country is safer regarding how many guns are available. Again, Brooks might feel this way about his privacy and safety, but many Americans do not agree with him in the least.
