A former Chinese president is dead.

Former Chinese President and Communist Party Secretary Jiang Zemin passed away at 96. His main priority while in office was justifying the Tiananmen Square massacre and putting down any resistance to the Communist rule in the country. Not many tears are being shed for Zemin in the United States.

While he was alive, he was referred to as a "toad" or "frog," given his unkempt appearance. He was known for being extremely cruel, even to his people, and he is a significant part of why the Communist Party in China continues to operate in the way that it does today. That is to say that descent is often quickly put down.

Breitbart reports the following bizarre fact about Zemin:

"Later in life, he became an internet meme for seemingly mocking current dictator Xi Jinping, yawning and conspicuously sleeping through an important Communist Party Congress speech in 2017."

It seems that Zemin had no respect for anyone outside of himself and remained cruel and bitter until he died.

The party announced his death on Wednesday and said it was due partly to multiple organ failures.

State-run propaganda newspaper Global Times posted information about a letter from Party leadership that said that Zemin was "an outstanding leader enjoying high prestige acknowledged by the whole Party, the entire military and the Chinese people of all ethnic groups." The letter also referred to him as an outstanding Marxist and champion for China.

He was the head of China from 1993 to 2003. However, even when he gave up power at that time, he didn't do so thoroughly. He retained specific official titles that seemingly handicapped the power of the new President, Hu Jintao, from fully taking over.

This once again goes to show the lengths that Zemin would go to care only for himself.
