Georgia voters have shown a lot of strength in voting numbers despite Democrat warnings that "voter suppression" might be an issue in the state. Some even attacked the 2021 legislation signed by Governor Brian Kemp to maintain voter integrity as an example of "Jim Crow 2.0". However, despite all this hyperbolic talk from Democrats, more than 2 million Georgians voted in the first round of this same race.

Some press members asked the White House about Biden's comments on the voter integrity law in the past, and White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre stated that the White House essentially stands by the comments and that the law makes it harder for Georgians to vote. The numbers don't tell that same story.

Jean-Pierre stated the following, according to the Daily Wire:
"As you know, I have to be careful. I cannot get into politics from here and The president has been very clear that based on the 'Big Lie' there have been a host of anti-voter policies forced on states that challenge America's fundamental right to vote, the access to voting. So this is against our most basic values, including respect for the law and the constitution."

She also mentioned that high voter turnout does not disprove the theory of voter suppression.
Warnock was first elected to his Senate seat on January 5, 2021, as part of a special election. This was a contest between himself and GOP Senator Kelly Loeffler. Loeffler was appointed to the seat after Johnny Isakson passed away.

Walker has spent a considerable portion of his campaign doing everything he can to tie Warnock to President Biden, who remains unpopular with most Americans. It is a relatively easy sell, given that Warnock votes with the President on most legislation.
Neither Warnock nor Walker reached 50% of the vote in the first round held in November, meaning that a runoff election was necessary to determine a winner in this race.
