Street preacher John Dunn is breathing a little easier after learning that charges were finally dropped against him in the British court system.

Two women in a same-sex marriage accused the preacher of hate speech for offering his opinions about same-sex marriages. However, although he faced pressure in the legal system in the United Kingdom, those charges were dropped.

Dunn is a veteran of the British Army's Special Forces and has a history of surviving throat cancer. He regularly preaches in the town square of Swindon, according to a press release from the Christian Legal Centre.

The Christian Legal Centre is also responsible for representing Dunn in his legal matters. The organization does its best to ensure that all people of faith are fairly represented when faced with unfair accusations such as those lobbed at Dunn.

Dunn told the two women holding hands that he hoped they were sisters. When they told him that they were married to each other, he said that "homosexuals will not inherit the kingdom of God," according to the Daily Wire. This is a direct quote from the Bible.

The women reported the preacher to law enforcement. Prosecutors insisted that Dunn was guilty of hate speech charges because his speech had offended a member of the public. However, the case was dismissed entirely after the two women failed to attend court. This is even though law enforcement visited their home frequently and encouraged them to show up for the court hearing.

Dunn spoke via a statement from the Christian Legal Centre, saying, "When I preach, I only ever say what is in the Bible. When they told me they were in a same-sex marriage, I was concerned for them."

He insists that he says what he says not to judge other people but to save them. He says his message comes from a place of love. He says he wants these women to know that forgiveness is available through Jesus.

The women said Dunn shouted at them that they would "burn in hell." However, it is a known fact that Dunn lost his voice box thanks to the throat cancer that he survived. Therefore, it seems physically impossible that he could have yelled at all.
