It is a time to celebrate our beautiful nation, friends, family, and being together. Americans celebrate this day together every year, except for one liberal. She didn’t take long to start ruining the holidays.
Joy Reid made sure that she celebrated by unpacking her thoughts on our beautiful tradition. Fox News reports, “‘Tonight, we begin with Thanksgiving, the day we gather with friends and family to enjoy turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, and pumpkin pie.’”

Reid continued, “It is a holiday riddled with historical inaccuracies, built on this myth that the indigenous welcomed their colonizers with open arms and ears of corn. A simplistic fairytale interpretation of a 1621 encounter between indigenous tribes and English settlers that erases the genocide that followed.”

Republicans indeed want history banned from our textbooks because here is the secret they want so desperately to keep: We are a country founded on violence. Our birth was violent.”
She didn’t stop there. Reid continues her rant by talking about how the KKK took up where slavery left off at the end of the civil war. She heavily implies that Thanksgiving is a celebration of white supremacy. Reid even touches on the repetitive acts of violence that force our children to participate in active shooter drills.

Then, she backtracks by asking how often we will see empty seats at Thanksgiving dinner. She recites the 1619 project, which depicts history as African slaves landing in Virginia, despite historians pointing out how inaccurate that account is. Of course, this then turned political. She had to break from being an angry, misinformed Grinch to blame Republicans for defending the second amendment.
