Missouri Senator Josh Hawley took to social media to give his thoughts about the midterm mayhem for the Republican Party.

He pointed the finger at Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and said that leadership could have done a better job supporting their candidates and distributing funds in a way that made more sense.

Senator Hawley tweeted the following:

"Washington Republicanism lost big Tuesday night. When your 'agenda' is the cave to Big Pharma on insulin, cave to Schumer on gun control & Green New Deal ('infrastructure'), and tease changes to Social Security and Medicare, you lose."

Republicans are still expected to take a tiny majority in the House of Representatives, but they will fall short in the Senate. Still, Democrats have already secured at least 50 seats, which will give them the majority, with Kamala Harris as the tiebreaking vote. A runoff race is scheduled for Georgia on December 6th, 2022.

Multiple Republicans in the Senate are asking for leadership votes to be delayed as they await final results in several races that remain uncalled. It all seems like a very reasonable request, and yet Senate leadership, under Mitch McConnell, is trying to push forward with the votes regardless. They need more time to look honestly at where the party stands in the Senate and what direction they might want to take things forward.

Senator Hawley and others are not pleased with this and are looking for a new leader for their party in the Senate.

Hawley says current leadership badmouthed their candidates amid the election, and he will not stand by a leadership team that does something like this. He is frustrated by the actions of those in charge, and he is looking to gather as many people as he can on his team to hold some of these people accountable.
