The latest target for the woke mob is a high school football team’s tribute to first responders who served during September 11.

The Irvington High School’s tribute to the heroes who served during that time has been criticized by those on the Radical Left.

The only thing that players did to honor the first responders from 9/11 was to put American flag stickers on their helmets, and two players brought out giant American flags to honor the heroes.

One player carried an American flag, and another carried a flag with a blue strip on it. This has historically been used to stand for “Blue Lives Matter,” which seems to set off the woke mob.

Irvington Union Free School District superintendent Kristopher Harrison sent a letter to the school criticizing their celebration honoring the heroes. Harrison said that politicized messages and celebrations might leave some people out and are not considered inclusive.

Harrison continued by saying that community members of color may take offense to the sight of the Blue Lives Matter flag.

The letter was not received well by everyone in the community. Many found it offensive to hear about what was or was not appropriate when honoring victims of 9/11. This is particularly true since the community lost two people to the attacks of that day.

One alumni wrote on Facebook that they found it ridiculous that anyone would find it offensive to see the American flag and a flag that honors law enforcement to be offensive.

One parent said they felt the superintendent missed the point and believed respecting all points of view is essential. They said that trying to ban or exclude specific political messages or points of view was not helpful to the continued political discourse of the country. If that is the case, then all opinions can be shut down.

Others took a different stance and asked people if they would be offended if a Black Lives Matter flag was flown before the games. The point they were trying to make was that not everyone would agree with that message, but there might be more considerable pushback from people about the Black Lives Matter flag than the Blue Lives Matter one.
