The homeless population continues to increase. Police forces either do nothing or can’t keep up with the crime. Now, a group of liberals takes matters into their own hands after a dog is found dead.
According to The Post Millennial, “The group calls itself the Park Slope Panthers, and it wants to follow the model of the Guardian Angels, who guarded the New York City subway system in the 1970s and 80s. Shootings and violent crime are up in the city across the board.”
The Post Millennial reports, “Nammack organized the group after a golden retriever mix, named Moose, was killed on August 3, after a homeless man chased down him and his owner, Jessica Chrustic, attacking both with a large stick and throwing a container of urine at the dog.”

Soon, a call to action was posted on social media by organizer Kristian Nammack. However, it didn’t take long for the leftist’s good intentions to be attacked by fellow liberals.

The Post Millennial informed us, “According to the Substack Common Sense, writer Suzy Weiss attended the group’s first meeting earlier this month and recounted how the meeting devolved into squabbling over topics like the group’s name.”

Many felt the name was racist, although Nammack states the group name is about the two panther statues at the entrance to the park. Some said it referenced the Black Panthers. How to help keep the neighborhood safe without falling into a stereotype or being labeled a Karen was a big problem.

Per The Post Millennial, “Not long after the meeting had started, a group of people in their early twenties, sporting, medical face masks, arrived with a large speaker playing electronic music.” It didn’t take long for a group of leftist liberals against the group to show up. Some members stick up for the criminal as they say he’s more than likely neurodivergent and that crime is an abstract term as they protest the group meeting.
Things have gone downhill since. The organizer woke up to red graffiti spelled “Don’t Be A Cop Kris.” A website is up that has the name The Park Slope Panthers. It reads, “Hi! Were you looking for the ‘Park Slope Panthers?’ Prospect Park doesn’t need your racist bs, thanks!” It continues to state that things like watches and patrols are unnecessary and that more harm reduction services are needed.

Meetings have become almost non-existent as the group doesn’t take priority. Unfortunately, sometimes you have to risk being offensive to make change happen. Hopefully, this group will get it together soon. They have a chance to help people feel safe.
