Carlson went on to mock Burns on his highly rated cable news show. He displayed images of border towns in Texas and Arizona overrun by illegal immigrants next to other pictures of Martha’s Vineyard with its well-manicured lawns, mansions, and pristine beaches. “Everything is relative. Martha’s Vineyard may be a modern-day death camp, but compared to where illegal aliens usually go, ‘it doesn’t look that bad.’”

Carlson added that Martha’s Vineyard looks hellish, “but in a different way.” He said, “Families eating together on balconies overlooking the water; women doing their shopping in quaint little towns on their bicycles; couples strolling on the boardwalk; sailboats. It doesn’t look that bad,”
