The publicly traded company Twilio has experienced rapid growth over the past few years. The programmable communication tools were in high demand. Then, inflation and supply chain bottlenecks made the company realize that laying off people is necessary. However, the method used to lay off people is questionable at best.

Sfgate.com quoted Jeff Lawson saying, “Twilio has grown at an astonishing rate over the past couple of years,” he writes in the letter. “It was too fast and without enough focus on our most important company priorities.”

Per Sfgate.com, “In a letter made public by the filing to Twilio staff — or Twilions, as CEO Jeff Lawson writes — Lawson takes responsibility for the company’s accelerated growth and, consequently, this layoff round. The tech industry has pulled back on its pandemic-era expansion amid larger economic headwinds and investor concerns, prompting layoffs and hiring freezes.”

According to the Daily Wire, “Lawson, however, informed his staff that Twilio is devoted to operating as an “anti-racist” company and that the layoffs were executed through an ‘Anti-Racist/Anti-Oppression lens,’ because ‘layoffs like this can have a more pronounced impact on marginalized communities.’”

This is the only company adopting a policy to fire white people first. According to The Daily Wire, “Last month, the Minneapolis Federation of Teachers agreed to a contract stipulating that non-white staff are considered a “population underrepresented among licensed teachers.” The contract fired them after white colleagues — a decision the union later defended as a remedy for “the continuing effects of past discrimination.”

The Daily Wire pointed out, “Prioritizing diversity among staff — even at the expense of optimizing merit — is an objective frequently pursued at companies that have subscribed to the environmental, social, and governance (ESG) movement. This involves executives tending to mingle left-wing politics with operations within their mandates.”

So, to combat racism and the continuing effects of discrimination that happened years ago, companies discriminate against white people. Wait, that can’t be right. White people have already been informed that even if mistreated, it can’t be racism or discrimination because they’re the majority. The more left politics make it into every aspect of life, the less they make sense.
