According to Just the News, Republican congressional candidate Tina Forte has gone on the offensive against her opponent, the far more famous Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-NY, on the issue of crime.

Forte stated what she believes is the reason for rising crime in New York City and big cities across the country.

“They’re blaming the guns right away. They’re not blaming the woke policies. They’re not blaming them whatsoever. They’re not blaming the bail reform. They’re not blaming letting the violent criminals back out, back out onto the streets, no matter what they do. They go in front of a judge and they’re just let back out.”

Forte is an unabashed supporter of former President Donald Trump, who won the Republican nomination for Congress in the deep blue 14th Congressional District of New York. She has campaigned using a series of expletive-laden videos in which she has denounced her celebrity congresswoman opponent on crime and various issues.

For example, “Bronx Forte,” as many call her, assailed AOC for blocking the establishment of a second Amazon.com headquarters in New York City, denying her constituents the thousands of jobs that facility would have created.

Forte also skewered Ocasio-Cortez for covid hypocrisy. While much of New York City was under pandemic lockdowns and mask mandates, AOC fled to Florida, a state that practiced a less stringent regime to fight the disease.

However, Forte has used crime and illegal immigration to strike at AOC in a long-shot but vigorous attempt to unseat the socialist-leaning House members. She maintains that restricting guns is not the answer to high crime. She believes the true answer is an adherence to the 2nd Amendment and the rule of law.

Forte believes that legal immigrants in New York City are increasingly resentful about the flow of illegal aliens across the southern border. She noted that a judge recently struck down an attempt by the New York City Council to allow non-citizens to vote in local elections.
