3.8 Million Americans Face Eviction Over The Next Two Months

According to figures from the Census Bureau, approximately 8.5 million Americans are behind on their rent. Out of that group, nearly 4 million say they are "somewhat" or "very" likely to be evicted within the next two months.

Thus, some suggest that Democrats may attempt to push a cancellation of rent within the next short time as their latest attempt to soothe voters.

Very high inflation, an end to rent moratoriums, an end to rental assistance programs, and other factors are pushing many renters to the brink. Zillow reported that rents topped $2,000 per month on average in June for the first time in recorded history. Thus, the nearly 4 million renters on the edge of being able to afford their rent may be priced out entirely shortly. If that is the case, it is reasonable to expect they may need to figure out a different living situation quickly.

Evictions are continuing to rise in major Democratic-run cities. For example, in Tampa, Florida, the number of evictions done in the city was 52 percent above the national average. Houston was 90 percent higher than the national average. Even in Minneapolis, evictions were a staggering 94 percent above the national average.

Is it possible that Democrats will blame the number of evictions on landlords instead of pointing to the people who are getting behind on paying their rent?

President Biden has already given in to the idea of student loan forgiveness and made that a reality recently. Some now wonder if rent forgiveness may be just around the corner now. Certain elements within his own party, such as AOC, Elizabeth Warren, and Bernie Sanders, will happily push for this type of thing. Right now, it feels to many that almost anything is possible in the America that we all live in.
