New York City Mayor Eric Adams denounced the pro-life movement as "radical" on Saturday and promised that he would "fight" to guarantee there are "no" limitations on abortion.

"Abortion is health care. It’s that simple. And New York City won’t let a group of radical extremists take away health care or any human right without a fight," Adams tweeted Saturday using the hashtag "BansOffOurBodies."

Adams attended a pro-choice protest in New York City on Saturday and announced that he doesn't think there should be any restrictions on abortion.

"No I do not," Adams announced when questioned at the "Bans Off Our Bodies" demonstration in New York City about whether there should be any limitations on abortion.

"I think women should have the right to choose their bodies," Adams announced when pressed again regarding abortions until birth. "Men should not have that right to choose how a woman should treat their body."

The remarks from Adams come as pro-choice demonstrators are demonstrating across the nation in response to a leaked Supreme Court opinion proposing that Roe v. Wade is on the verge of being struck down.

Recent Fox News polling reveals that over half of Americans think that abortion should be prohibited after 15 weeks of pregnancy.

Meanwhile, the Senate failed to promote a Democratic-led bill Wednesday that would glorify broad protections for legal abortion nationwide, a vote triggered by a leaked Supreme Court draft opinion that indicates Roe v. Wade is likely to be overturned.

The Women's Health Protection Act, which has passed the House, won 49 votes, falling far short of the 60 senators required to break a filibuster.

All 50 Republicans and Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., voted against moving to debate. The vote was 49-51.

Moments before the vote, a group of House members appeared at the Senate side of the Capitol and yelled, "my body, my decision!" as they marched along the halls outside the chamber.

Democratic leaders saw the vote as a chance to lay down a marker ahead of midterm elections in November as their party faces fierce headwinds, from President Joe Biden's awful approval ratings to voters' concerns regarding inflation. Strategists in the party wish to persuade the sizable majority of Americans who want to uphold Roe v. Wade to vote Democratic.

"Republicans in Congress — not one of whom voted for this bill — have chosen to stand in the way of Americans’ rights to make the most personal decisions about their own bodies, families and lives," Biden announced in a statement after the vote. "To protect the right to choose, voters need to elect more pro-choice senators this November, and return a pro-choice majority to the House. If they do, Congress can pass this bill in January, and put it on my desk, so I can sign it into law."
