“The most effective thing Joe Biden can do to solve the inflation crisis he created is resign. He’s the problem,” Scott, R-Fla., announced Tuesday ahead of Biden’s planned comments on inflation.
“Let’s be honest here. Joe Biden is unwell. He’s unfit for office. He’s incoherent, incapacitated, and confused. He doesn’t know where he is half the time. He’s incapable of leading and he’s incapable of carrying out his duties,” Scott continued.
The White House did not immediately react to a request for comment regarding Scott calling for Biden to quit, although it has aggressively pushed back against suggestions Biden isn’t mentally fit for the job.

Scott’s remark comes as Biden is hammering the senator, who is the chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC), over a plan he issued this year for a GOP agenda if they take the Senate majority.
A White House official called Scott’s plan “an ultra-MAGA proposal that would raise taxes on 75 million, primarily middle-class, American families while sunsetting vital programs like Social Security and Medicare.”

White House director of rapid response Mike Gwin announced in a statement, according to Fox News Digital: “Senator Scott doesn’t have a leg to stand on to talk about prices when he continues to lead Congressional Republicans in pushing a MAGA agenda that would raise taxes on half of Americans and jeopardize retirement benefits like Social Security and Medicare.”

“Putting billionaires ahead of the middle class may make sense when Scott’s at Mar-a-Lago, but it’s bad news for working families. Senator Scott’s plan sounds too extreme to believe, but Americans should see it for themselves on Scott’s website – RescueAmerica.com – and compare it with the President’s plan to lower costs for working families and strengthen our middle class.”
WHITE HOUSE WEIGHING GAME-CHANGING SHIFT IN IMMIGRATION POLICY
Scott was denounced in GOP circles for the plan, which some stated gave Democrats an easy target to attack in a midterm cycle where all the political winds are blowing in Republicans’ direction.
Biden, in the meantime, is giving comments Tuesday regarding how he intends to lower inflation and lower the deficit amid relentless criticism from Republicans that Biden is the one causing it. Republicans blame reckless spending and policies like the student loan debt pause for fueling inflation.
