“We’re discussing that right now,” Biden announced – without directly answering if the discussions were regarding eliminating the tariffs or a partial rollback when pressed.

He again called out Sen. Rick Scott (R-Wis.) by name over his plan to make certain every American has “skin in the game” and pays at least some taxes. Scott further suggested sunsets for all legislation, attracting pushback from fellow Republicans. Biden states it would put Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid at risk.
He predicted Republicans would “use them as hostages every five years to get their way on other things.”

Things also got personal with Scott when Biden was asked to react to Scott’s comments that he is “unwell” as well as “incapacitated” and “confused” and should quit.

Biden smirked when a reporter read the remarks, then replied: “I think the man has a problem.”
His address comes as Americans rate inflation as their top economic concern, and as U.S. gas prices hit a record $4.37 per gallon, according to AAA. The price is not adjusted for inflation. That means consumers are paying $1.41 over a year ago.
