The White House on Wednesday announced that Republicans are more concentrated on "calling out" Mickey Mouse than policies helping people.

President Joe Biden hit out at the GOP's "ultra-MAGA agenda" amid the fallout from a leaked Supreme Court draft opinion denouncing federal abortion rights. The president later stated the opinion could endanger other liberal precedents and lead to a ban of LGBT pupils in classrooms.

When asked regarding the remarks, press secretary Jen Psaki bashed Republicans over what she announced are misplaced priorities.

"The president will be judged by his actions and what he does to make lives better," Psaki stated. "Far too many of these MAGA Republicans, as he refers to them, follow the whims of calling out Mickey Mouse and opposing policies that will help make the lives better of many Americans."

Psaki listed lowering the cost of prescription drugs, elder care, and expanded access to healthcare as among Biden's priorities. She continued that Biden uses the term "MAGA" because Donald Trump isn't on the ballot this fall, yet his agenda is.

The Mickey Mouse remarks refer to a continuous dispute between Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and Disney over the fallout from the state's new Parental Rights in Education bill.

A reporter asked Psaki which states are planning to segregate LGBT children in the classroom.

"We've seen laws that are incredibly discriminatory," she announced. "That's what the president is referring to, and the fact that he doesn't know what additional steps could be taken by extreme wings of the party that would rather divide than work on issues people are actually focused on."

"What he's saying is we don't know what they're capable of given what they've already done to date," Psaki stated.

Biden announced that his administration was on track to cut the deficit by $1.5 trillion by the end of the fiscal year, describing it as “the biggest decline in the single year ever in American history.”

He announced that the Treasury Department would further pay down the national debt this quarter for the first time since 2016. “It didn’t happen a single quarter under my predecessor,” Biden stated. “Not once.”

He went on: “The bottom line is that the deficit went up every year under my predecessor before the pandemic and during the pandemic.”

Biden’s defense of his handling of the economy takes on increasing urgency for Democrats in an election year and as the country wrestles with increasing prices for everyday goods. Critics have pointed to the trillions of dollars in federal spending under the Biden administration, with more proposed but unable to pass the Senate as a substantial contributing factor.

On Wednesday, Biden settled on a simple message: “We reduce federal borrowing, and we help combat inflation,” he announced in remarks from the White House.
