Dem Lawmakers Continue To Seek Revenge On Taylor Greene

Rep. Haley Stevens took to social media to urge the Capitol Police to probe Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene after the Georgia Republican did an interview implying the use of "Second Amendment rights" against Democrats.

“I am concerned about the mental health of my colleague from Georgia,” the Michigan Democrat wrote on Twitter, asking Capitol Police⁩ “to address her dangerous threats in my workplace.”

“Just as we would in any school or job site, we cannot let calls for gun violence go unchecked,” Stevens wrote.

Stevens’s tweet linked to an article about a recent interview Greene did, saying Democrats “hate our Second Amendment" and claiming Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams will "grab" guns.

"Ultimately, the truth is it's our Second Amendment rights, our right to bear arms, that protects Americans and gives us the ability to defend ourselves from a tyrannical government," Greene said, according to Newsweek. "And I hate to use this language, but Democrats, they're exactly ... They're doing exactly what our founders talked about when they gave us the precious rights that we have."

Greene, who also told the outlet she is “not a violent person," has used similar speech before, previously hinting at volunteers recommending vaccination door-to-door in the South where “we all love our Second Amendment rights" might “not like the welcome they get."

Rep. Dean Phillips also condemned Greene’s remarks on Twitter, writing that House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy should “take disciplinary action” or that Congress should discipline them both.

“This madness must be addressed or violence will ensue,” the Minnesota Democrat wrote.

No alien to debate, Greene was removed from her Committee tasks in the House last year over similar statements, and her personal account was suspended from Twitter this year over her claims about the COVID-19 pandemic.

Greene spoke about a “national divorce” after claiming that the Democratic Party forms a “tyrannical government” that Americans can resist through their right to bear arms.

“Democrats, they hate our Second Amendment. Because ultimately the truth is it’s our Second Amendment rights, our right to bear arms, that protects Americans and give us the ability to defend ourselves from a tyrannical government,” Greene said on Tuesday’s episode of “America First,” a right-wing podcast hosted Sebastian Gorka, a former adviser to President Donald Trump.

“And I hate to use this language, but Democrats, they’re exactly ― they’re doing exactly what our Founders talked about when they gave us these precious rights that we have.”

“No one wants violence, and I say all the time I am not a violent person,” Greene added. “I hope to never see a civil war in this country, and that’s why you hear me toss around ‘national divorce.’”
