Sen. Lindsey Graham, a South Carolina Republican, said the 2024 GOP presidential nomination is former President Donald Trump's for the taking "unless there's something coming out of left field" and that Trump will secure it if he "runs a disciplined campaign."

"The Republican base appreciated him," Graham said Wednesday. "We don't appreciate all the things he does sometimes. But from a policy point of view, he was the most successful president from a conservative's point of view since Ronald Reagan."

Trump should stress to voters his successes in office, the South Carolina Republican said, and members of the GOP can expect a "blowout year" during the 2022 midterm elections if they deliver a Trump-led "America first" message, he said.

Democrats need to have their failures stressed, Graham told Fox News.

"We will clean their clock," he said. "In 1994, we won 73 seats to take over … the House for the first time in 40 years. If we play our cards right, we will exceed that."

The Senator also took his chance to take a shot at President Joe Biden. "He's just incompetent," Graham said. "He's been wrong about everything for 40 years."

Graham concluded by expressing why it's so critical Republicans take back power.

"Radical Islam is on the rise and raging in Afghanistan, and you have an open southern border," he said. "If something doesn't change, 2022 could be the most dangerous year for America since 1939 and the world at large."

Back on Thanksgiving, Trump hinted at a 2024 bid, saying: “A very interesting time in our Country, but do not worry, we will be great again—and we will all do it together,” Trump said in a statement that played off his campaign slogan “Make America Great Again.”

Trump added: “America will never fail, and we will never allow it to go in the wrong direction. Too many generations of greatness are counting on us. Enjoy your Thanksgiving knowing that a wonderful future lies ahead!”

Trump left office almost a year ago and has publicly toyed with a rematch against Biden. Although Biden won Trump by more than 7 million votes nationwide, the Electoral College would have been tied if Trump gained just 43,000 votes in three swing states.

A separate Thanksgiving email blast attributed to Trump by the fundraising department of his Save America PAC solicited contributions by citing soaring inflation.

“We have a lot to be thankful for, but unfortunately, RECORD HIGH INFLATION is not one of those things. Biden took the beautiful, strong economy I built and lit it up in flames. The price of your Thanksgiving meal has gone up 14%. Despicable,” that statement said.
