Pre-orders for Johnny the Walrus on Amazon have topped the charts for the LGBTQ+ section – and Leftist groups are mad about that triumph.
The LGBT group GLADD signal boosted Brennan Suen of Media Matters, who insisted that the book is "anti-trans" and that its author, Walsh, is running a grift.
"It is absolutely not an LGBTQ book. It specifically targets transgender people with hateful and dehumanizing rhetoric." In a follow-up comment earlier today, Suen told Walsh that his issue with the book is that it's "mislabeled."
"The success of the book proves that people are tired of the children's book market being dominated by Left-wing propaganda," Matt Walsh told The Daily Wire.

Walsh isn't the first Right-winger to enter the arena. Political commentator Ashley St. Clair wrote a kid's book with a similar premise named "Elephants Are Not Birds."
A counter to the allegation made by Progressive activists is Matt Walsh's read-along video. The Daily Wire podcaster read Johnny the Walrus to school children.

The book's plot is that Johnny pretended to be a walrus, and his mom thought it was entertaining enough to publish on social media. The "internet people" then launch a campaign stating that being a Walrus is Johnny's actual identity, and they press the mother to take the child to a doctor to start the transition process.

Pink News announced that this particular page where the doctor claims he has to cut Johnny's feet into fins is "twisted."
Johnny is shown to have a hard time being forced to have wooden spoons in his mouth, wear grey makeup, and eat worms. The mother is urged to go along with it until she takes Johnny to the zoo, and a zookeeper advises her to ignore what the activists say online.

“I think people are buying the book because we need a little bit of sanity in our culture and especially in children’s books,” Walsh announced. “I mean any parent – I’m a parent myself – and we know that if you go to the children’s section at Barnes & Noble’s, you look at all the titles, and it’s like being at an Antifa rally … with all the left-wing propaganda.”
Whether or not Amazon will listen to the moral of Matt Walsh's children's story remains to be seen.
