On Thursday morning, Former President Donald Trump called into Fox News where he spent roughly half an hour attacking President Joe Biden over his COVID-19 mandates, taking credit for the vaccines and accusing the current Administration of turning the United States into a 'dumping ground' for migrants coming to the southwest border.

Toward the end of his interview Fox & Friends host Brian Kilmeade appeared to catch the former president off-guard with a question about his 2024 prospects - specifically whether his wife would stay by his side.

"Does it make you want to get another four years and be the 47th president?" he asked of Trump's feelings toward his signature MAGA rallies. "And is it true that the first lady, Melania Trump, told you "I'm not going back if you run again?"'

'No, that's not true,' Trump snickered. "That's an interesting one - more fake news. That's not true."

Co-host Steve Doocy attempted to step in by reasserting the ex-President's claim that it was "more fake news," but Trump proceeded to speak over him.

"She was a great first lady, she did a great job, she loves the people, they love her. I see how they love her - but no, I will say this - we have to fix our country. Our country is going bad. We're not going to have a country any longer if we keep doing this when we allow other countries to empty their prisons into our country," he said.

A CNN report from October cites 'several people' who revealed she saw her husband's four-year stint in the White House as a "chapter" and "it's over, and that's that."

As to whether he'll be running to challenge Democrats in 2024, Trump remained vague as ever.

"Nobody has ever had that, and overall approval numbers are great, so you know, I'm not going by polls. I'm just saying, I did it before and really did it twice," he said, alluding to baseless claims the 2020 election was somehow rigged in Biden's favor, and citing recent GOP polling.

Elsewhere in the interview, the Fox hosts allowed Trump to lambast Biden over his handling of the pandemic.

Trump told them Biden did a "terrible job" rolling out coronavirus vaccines, which were first administered at the end of his presidency in December 2020.

"He's done just an absolutely terrible job getting it out, and getting people to take it," Trump said. "I have to be very proud of the vaccines. We did it in less than nine months."

He noticeably stopped short of recommending the shot. Though the U.S. vaccination rate among adults is slowly increasing, GOP voters make up a significant chunk of those still refusing to take it.

"They worked incredibly well, some people don't want to take them and that's their freedom and that's what we have to do, but people don't want to take them because they don't trust Biden. They don't trust the Administration," Trump said.
