Former 2016 Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton implied Tuesday night that Americans have yet to grasp the 'extraordinary accomplishments' of President Joe Biden.

Clinton pointed out that Biden was able to get both the COVID relief bill and the bipartisan infrastructure deal to his desk, with the Build Back Better bill already passed through the House.

"You know, democracy is messy. You know, a lot of people got, oh I think, kind of frustrated looking at the messy process of legislation," Clinton told MSNBC's Rachel Maddow. 'And they didn't really appreciate that, within a year, the Biden administration had passed two major pieces of legislation through the House and the Senate."

"By any measure those are extraordinary accomplishments and they really will help many millions of Americans with healthcare and prescription drug prices and climate change and so much else," the former first lady, senator and secretary of State went on to note.

Clinton insisted that Republicans have been able to muddle that message.

"But because of the way we are getting our information today, and because of the lack of gatekeepers and people who have a historic perspective, who can help us understand what we are seeing, there is a real vulnerability in the electorate to the kind of demagoguery and disinformation that, unfortunately, the other side is really good at exploiting," she pressed.

By comparison, Trump's first big victory in Congress, the Republican tax bill, didn't get signed until December 2017, roughly 11 months into his tenure.

Also, it took President Barack Obama until March 2010 to get the Affordable Care Act passed by Congress, despite making healthcare reform his top priority.

In her one-on-one interview with Maddow, Clinton acknowledged Biden's accomplishments unprompted, as she warned about the toll social media and other internet technologies have taken on politics.

"It's really hard to escape,' Clinton expressed. 'So the problem that we face is an old problem, but with a new twist because of technology."

"I think we're really on the precipice, Rachel, of seeing people particularly in the Republican Party but not only there, who truly just want power, power to impose their views, power to exploit financial advantage, power to implement a religious point of view, we see all of that converging," Clinton warned.

She then segued to how Americans didn't realize all that Biden had accomplished.

Biden has seen a steady drop in poll numbers for months, which haven't been helped by his administration's messy withdrawal from Afghanistan and rising prices at the grocery store and gas pump.

The current Real Clear Politics polling average puts Biden at 41.6 percent approval and 53.1 percent disapproval.
