A source familiar with Harris' schedule confirmed to The Washington Post that she was slated to talk to the group of wealthy donors for the two-day "Saving Our Democracy Donor Summit." The story was first published by Puck News.
Matters of critical race theory were reportedly on the agenda for this year's summit, which comes as the Democratic Party rolls from a bruising loss in last week's gubernatorial election in Virginia.
Established in 2005, the Democracy Alliance has publicly maintained there is an "unprecedented right-wing assault on democracy," and members have to donate no less than $100,000 to certain liberal groups.
Harris follows in the steps of President Biden, who addressed the group in 2011 when he was Vice President.

Harris' comments come as she makes her first European trip as Vice President, during which she will be meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron as the Biden Administration tries to mend a rift in the wake of France being excluded from the U.S.-Australia deal on nuclear-powered submarines.

While in Paris, Harris is supposed to address the plight of migrants and refugees, yet, her talks will have little to do with the U.S.-Mexico border, according to a report.

Neither Harris' office nor representatives for the Democracy Alliance responded to a request for comment in time for publication.
Meanwhile, it has been reported that Harris's rating reached a "historic" new low in a survey which seemed to make her the least popular Vice President at this stage of an Administration in at least 50 years.

Her approval rating dropped to 27.8 percent, and her disapproval score was 51.2 percent noting that she is more unpopular than Mike Pence, Joe Biden, Dick Cheney, and Al Gore were at this point in their vice presidencies.
Even Dan Quayle, the much-ridiculed vice-president of George W. Bush was more popular after being in office for seven months with an approval rating of 43 percent and a disapproval score of just 22 percent.

The numbers represent a dramatic drop from when Harris took office when her approval rating was generally more than 50 percent.

Since then, the 57-year-old has been denounced for not being at President Joe Biden's side at public events and refusing to go to the Mexico border for weeks after she was put in charge of the situation. In the latest USA Today/Suffolk University survey, 21 percent of voters were undecided, indicating Harris's lack of visibility could be a problem.
