A witness of the Kyle Rittenhouse shooting who was present at the hearing gave testimony at the trial today, unveiling that one of the people going after Rittenhouse, who was 17 at the time, had his own gun loaded.

The first week of Rittenhouse's trial is reaching an end as a courtroom decides whether or not he acted in self-defense that evening, amidst other claims about public safety and firearms possession.

After Rittenhouse had killed both Haber and Rosenbaum, and damaged Gaige Grosskreutz, Jason Lackowski was one of the people who helped aid Gaige’s injuries by applying a tourniquet. He further claimed that there were bullets in Grosskreutz’s handgun when he emptied the chamber.

As reported thoroughly by the Daily Wire, Rittenhouse’s defense attorneys also got Jason Lackowski to confirm that he heard one of the protesters that night shout "Get him!"

The witness went with a fellow military veteran to Kenosha on the night of the occurrence to protect local business.

Nowhere in the ABC News coverage does this get brought up. Lackowski’s description of the testimony instead stresses how he personally didn’t see Joseph Rosenbaum as a menace. The former Marine saw Rosenbaum as a "babbling idiot" with how he acted that evening.

Bystander video shows Rosenbaum chasing Rittenhouse through a parking lot and throwing a plastic bag at him. Rittenhouse flees behind a car and Rosenbaum follows. No video of the moment Rittenhouse pulled the trigger has surfaced yet, if any exists. Richard McGinnis, a reporter who was trailing Rittenhouse, told investigators that Rosenbaum tried to grab Rittenhouse’s gun, according to the criminal complaint.

After Lacowski, the prosecution brought forward the great aunt of Anthony Huber (the skateboard wielder) to introduce character witnesses into the trial. Judge Bruce Schroeder had to meddle and lead the jury out of the room while both the prosecution and the defense weighed on whether this line of questioning was permissible.

The prosecution stated their approach was to show Huber was just trying to be heroic, rather than an attacker. Judge Schroeder’s choice boiled down to saying if he allowed the state to go that route, the defense would have been allowed to introduce Anthony Huber’s criminal background.

It led the prosecution to eliminate that line of questioning.

After that, Rosenbaum’s fiancée Kariann Swart was asked to come up to the stand. Since her initial testimony brought up the fact Joseph was on medication, the defense was granted to inquire from Swart further about Rosenbaum’s bipolar disorder and depression treatment.
