Almost seven in 10 parents with children under age 18 do not think there should be a vaccine mandate for students, a new survey found.

Asked if students in grades K-12 should be asked to get the COVID-19 vaccine once eligible for the shot, 68% of respondents that have children under 18 announced they do not believe the vaccine should be mandatory, according to a Quinnipiac University Poll published Wednesday.

Just 30% of respondents with children under 18 agreed that the shot has to be mandatory, the survey discovered.

Approximately 3 in 10 Americans (28 percent) believe the U.S. did the right thing by removing all troops from Afghanistan, while 50 percent think the U.S. should have withdrawn some troops from Afghanistan though, not all troops, and 15 percent believe the U.S. should not have withdrawn any troops from Afghanistan.

"Though the troops are gone, America's longest war still gnaws at the country. Weary of the seemingly endless conflict but wary of what was left behind, the majority of people still see boots on the ground as the firewall between a country in the grip of Western hating factions and the rest of the world," said Quinnipiac University Polling Analyst Tim Malloy.
