Stresses rise in Iran following their presidential elections on Friday, as protestors country-wide hit campaign posters and write pro-democracy graffiti speeches.

Messages scribbled on walls over Tehran read "Our vote is regime change and Yes to a democratic Iran," and "we will not vote for murderers."

According to the Daily Wire, The Iranian government chose to continue polling stations way into the small hours to fix what still lived a very low voter turnout in what many critics have called a "sham" election.

It is expected that the elections will go to Ebrahim Raisi, who is the favored candidate of the Iranian religious authorities. Raisi is recognized for his hardline position against the protests that have shaken Iran in recent years and seems to not be very familiar with the Iranian public in general.

Iranian authorities have sent the military in on more than one occasion to use live ammo on peaceful protests both in 2017 and 2019. It is expected that hundreds, and possibly thousands, of protestors, have been murdered because of this.

One man who says he is the father of a young man who was one of such killed had a strong message for the Iranian authorities, which he recorded on video:

"In the past 42 years, I have never voted for the Islamic Republic, and I will never vote for it. And I will do everything to overthrow this sinister Islamic Republic regime and its leaders."

“Long live freedom. Shame on the Islamic Republic." In Toronto, Iranian protesters gathered last year to mourn the death of a celebrated athlete who died at the hands of the Iranian regime.

On Wednesday a video doing the rounds shows an unnamed woman demonstrating a town hall event in Tehran. The video captured by the news website The Foreign Desk shows a woman talking out, and taking aim at the seven presidential candidates. In the translated words she is seen and heard saying, "They put seven bananas in front of us, and they say take one. What’s the difference? A thief is a thief."

Other videos show anti-regime protests including the burning and ripping down of posters of the likely new leader, Ebrahim Raisi, the head of the country’s judiciary.

"I just wish the Iranian people were free and made all their words public, but you can see for yourself that despite all the repression, the people still showed their opposition to the election farce," said a twenty-something medical professional who gave her name as Roya from the country’s Southwest.

"You have to believe that in this regime, there is no such thing as elections," she said, "and that it is neither fair, nor legal, nor in accordance with the laws of the free world."
