Conclusion

From George Washington to the leaders who followed, United States Presidents typically hold higher-than-average IQs. We like to think that the higher the IQ, the better the leader. While book smarts may not always equal leadership skills, a quick look down the path of Presidential history reveals a connection. Perhaps the measure of intelligence shines through to lead and direct America through its darkest moments. After the elections are over, additional character traits prove helpful to successful leaders, such as courage, superb communication skills, and an ability to listen to the citizens’ hearts before taking action. One thing is sure. The connection between the nation’s leaders and brains puts those with a reasonably high IQ in the White House.
