A morning news anchor from Mississippi has reportedly lost her job after using a popular phrase coined by rapper Snoop Dogg during a live broadcast earlier this month.

Barbie Bassett has not returned to her post as an anchor at NBC affiliate WLBT since the March 8 broadcast, and her name has been removed from the news team's roster on the station's website, according to the Clarion Ledger.

The Post attempted to obtain comments from Bassett, WLBT, and Snoop Dogg, but none of them have issued a statement on the matter.

Ted Fortenberry, the regional vice president and general manager of the station, declined to comment on personnel matters, citing confidentiality.

The incident occurred during a discussion about Snoop Dogg's new addition to his Cali wine collection. Bassett used the phrase "Fo shizzle, my nizzle" when the possibility of a collaboration between the rapper and a journalist from the newsroom was raised.
