In an interview with Australia’s ABC 730 news station, Bill Gates was grilled over his relationship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The Microsoft founder stressed that he had only a “business” relationship with the disgraced financier and that he had not been aware of any of Epstein’s criminal activities. Gates made it clear that he had no contact with Epstein after 2008, when Epstein’s legal troubles began, and that he was not involved in any of the charity activities that Epstein supported. He also noted that he was unaware of some of the philanthropic activities that Epstein was involved in and that those activities had been occurring long before he came into contact with Epstein. Gates also said that he had been unaware of the extent of Epstein’s criminal activities, adding that any contact he had with him was “limited”.
