Over the weekend, members of the far-Right Proud Boys group marched through Rockville Centre, LI, charging into stores and disrupting shoppers, according to a video and reports.

Some 20 members of the organization, classified as a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center and Anti-Defamation League, overran a street Saturday while clad in black, their faces covered by bandanas, and hoisting “Don’t Tread on Me” flags as they blared rap music from a truck, a video shows.

Newsday reported that the marchers trekked down Sunrise Highway all the way to the Nassau County village’s business district, where they stormed into shops while screaming slogans and passing out fliers detailing the group’s philosophies.

The protest drew the ire of local elected officials.

US Rep. Kathleen Rice, a Democrat whose district includes the South Shore of Long Island, expressed she was “disgusted” by the group.

“I’m aware of the march through Rockville Centre that white nationalists organized today. I am disgusted that this took place in our district,” she tweeted. “I will continue to fight against racism, hatred, and white nationalism while serving as your representative.

State Sen. Todd Kaminsky (D-Long Island) wrote Saturday in a tweet with an accompanying video of the scene, “The Neo-fascist Proud Boys marched through Rockville Centre today, close to my office.

“I think we need to let them know they have no home here. We do believe in diversity and inclusion and we don’t accept what they’re putting down. Otherwise a march of 20 becomes a march of 100 and who knows where it goes from there.”

“I will not be silent. Their hatred has no place here-this is not the Nassau I know,” the lawmaker stated. “Who else will speak up?”

State Assemblywoman Judy Griffin (D-Rockville Centre) said the demonstration was unsettling.

“It is extremely concerning that the far-right, neo-fascist Proud Boys held a march through Rockville Centre this afternoon,” she posted on Twitter. “Organized groups that espouse violence and hate should not be welcome in our communities.”

The weekend Proud Boys protest comes after the group last month took to the streets of Long Island’s Patchogue and Bay Shore communities, as per a Patch report.

Several members of the extremist organization have faced criminal consequences for their participation in the Jan. 6 Capitol siege.

On Tuesday, the House Select Committee investigating the deadly riot issued five subpoenas targeting right-wing groups, including the Proud Boys.
