Hackers Or Terrorists? Trump website Hacked And This Is Done

Hackers canceled former President Donald Trump's presidential website Monday and led visitors to a page by Turkish hacktivist group RootAyyildiz who forced readers to "not forget Allah."

"Do not be like those who forgot Allah, so Ally made them forget themselves. Here they really went astray," the site read.

“There are many areas of hacking attacks, for example, hacking social media accounts or websites. I am a hacktivist, and I have been working on websites for a long time,” the hacker told the outlet in a Facebook message.

The message was in Turkish. The suspected hacker has been accused of momentarily canceling President Joe Biden's official campaign website in November 2020.

Biden's website advertised a message in Turkish with the country's flag placed at the top with aliases and usernames such as "MarbeyliWerom," "b4rbarøsas," and "oneshot."

A photo of the 34th Sultan of the Ottoman Empire, Abdul Hamid II, was also on the site with a footer note saying: "We are the ones who stopped the tanks with their bare hands on the night of July 15.

"We are those who died that night. We have been waiting for Archers Hill for 15 centuries! We are the keepers of that golden banner that will never miss its shadow on us."

"In November, hackers promoting Turkish nationalist themes breached and defaced a website previously established for a candidate in the U.S. presidential campaign, according to U.S. cybersecurity press," the NIC stated in the report.

The impairment of Trump's site isn't the first – hackers last October claimed to have compromised "multiple devices" that gave them access to the "most internal and secret conversations" of Trump and his relatives, including classified information.

The site targeted by "Root" was launched by Trump in May, not long after he left office. At the time, the former President had recently been banished from pretty much all the major social media outlets (Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram). As a result, Trump was cast out of a mouthpiece and wanted to create his platform where he would have the power to post anything. Still, after the site started and failed to get any real attention on the scale he was aspiring for, the former President quietly left active editorial operations for it. The site is a hollowed-out campaign shell for a guy who is no longer actively involved in politics.

A report produced by the National Intelligence Council this past March refers to that prior incident as "hacktivist" in nature—one directed at promoting "Turkish nationalist themes."
