Trump complains Saudis not paying fair share for U.S. defense

Written by  Reuters

WASHINGTON President Donald Trump complained on Thursday that U.S. ally Saudi Arabia was not treating the United States fairly and Washington was losing a “tremendous amount of money” defending the kingdom.

In an interview with Reuters, Trump confirmed his administration was in talks about possible visits to Saudi Arabia and Israel in the second half of May.

He is due to make his first trip abroad as president for a May 25 NATO summit in Brussels and could add other stops.

"Frankly, Saudi Arabia has not treated us fairly, because we are losing a tremendous amount of money in defending Saudi Arabia,” he said.

Trump’s criticism of Riyadh, the world’s top oil exporter, was a return to his 2016 election campaign rhetoric when he accused the kingdom of not pulling its weight in paying for the U.S. security umbrella.

"Nobody’s going to mess with Saudi Arabia because we’re watching them," Trump told a campaign rally in Wisconsin a year ago. “They’re not paying us a fair price. We’re losing our shirt.”

Saudi Arabia’s powerful deputy crown prince Mohammed bin Salman met with Trump last month in a meeting that was hailed by a senior Saudi adviser as a “historical turning point” in relations.

If You have ever read THE ART OF WAR;then, You must see that the enemy uses Your assets to fight You. Invade You--eat Your food, use Your weapons and supply system----in short We are being HAD. The War is a religious one that has it's root in the Crusades---some things do not ever seem to change. Turkey has been an allied friend;but, with the Muslim radicalization that appears to be waining-------------AVOID FOREIGN ENTANGLEMENTS, when at all possible.

Damn right !

Why should we protect Saudi's borders, when they have such a terrible track record on Human Rights. We also protect their Religious belief's when they host a Religious Pilgrimage to their Country at that Mecca where all the Muslims go to Pray to their Allah . We know that it is the Saudi Family who own their own Country, so how is that Democratic. A ruling Family who rules their Country and is above the Citizens right for Justice. We should send all of the Refugees to Saudi Arabia . That would start with France, Germany and the United Kingdom. Those Countries have so many problems hosting these Refugees that will not assimilate and only want to take control of those Countries.

Let us not forget that one trillion IS a big number. One trillion seconds is about 31688 years 269 days 17 hours 34 minutes and 25 seconds. Multiply 31689 by 20 and you get one hell of a number. If we paid the debt off at one billion dollars a day it would take one thousand days just to pay off ONE trillion dollars or 20000 days to pay the whole thing. Twenty thousand days is 54.794521 years.

We owe nearly $20 Trillion, we cannot afford to protect the whole world and keep borrowing to do so!

President Trump - do not back down - do not let the pathetic curmudgeons of DC effect you - do not lose you objectives - anything worthwhile in this life requires work and effort or anybody could do it - did you make it b/c you reacted to those that said you never will.

Let the price of oil go through the roof - we then turn on our wells and tell the sheet heads to pound their own sand. Trudeau will acquiesce b/c he will not lose revenue selling us oil at increased prices - or simply tell him to keep it and burn it himself
