The intelligence assessment did not specify the exact number of Shi’a Hezbollah terrorists hiding among the country’s migrant population, but there were 950 active Hezbollah operatives known to Germany’s federal intelligence agency (BfV), the newspaper confirmed.
The report focuses on Germany’s most populous state of North Rhine-Westphalia and shows a similar rise in the operatives belonging to terrorist outfit Hamas as well. Both the US and the EU have classified Iran-backed Hezbollah and Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated Hamas as terrorist organizations.

Hezbollah combatants have entered Germany since mid-2015 as part of the wave of refugees from the Middle East, according to a German intelligence report reviewed by The Jerusalem Post.
The report released this month shows increased membership for Hezbollah and Hamas in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia.
