The University of Southern California doesn’t want Harvey Weinstein’s money.

School officials said Tuesday that they had rejected a $5 million endowment from the media mogul to grant scholarships to female directors in the wake of his sexual harassment scandal.

“The USC School of Cinematic Arts will not proceed with Mr. Weinstein’s pledge to fund a $5M endowment for women filmmakers,” the university explained in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter.

The decision came not long after a Change.org petition was launched in an effort to stop USC from accepting Weinstein’s “blood money.”

“As a woman at USC, the prospect that my university might sell an indulgence to ease Harvey Weinstein’s non-existent guilt saddens me,” the petition reads. “The prospect that, given their pattern of atrocious tolerance to violence against women, they almost certainly will disgusts me.”

The petition was launched by USC student Tiana Lowe on Tuesday under the title “Reject Harvey Weinstein’s $5 million foundation for the USC School of Cinematic Arts.”

It mentions the numerous allegations of sexual harassment that were hurled at the 65-year-old filmmaker in explosive exposes published in The New York Times and New Yorker — while also touching on other school controversies that have made waves in recent years.

“Universities are supposed to be one of the premier moral arbiters and ethical gatekeepers to civil society, but USC has acted as anything but,” the petition says. “University officials continue to promulgate the offensive lie that all men have just a little bit of rape culture in them, but all it takes a flashy Ainsley Carry photo-op in the Daily Trojan and some consent classes to prevent men from revealing their inner rapist.”

The petition adds, “I’d like USC to finally muster the moral spine to refuse Harvey Weinstein’s blood money in exchange for its soul. We are blessed with the expansive and charitable Trojan family. We don’t need this money. What we need is some damn principles.”

More than 220 people had signed the document as of 7 p.m. Tuesday, which is more than its goal.

“I know this is closer to a rant than an argument, but I’m done with respectable institutions readmitting monsters into honorable life,” the petition says in closing. “USC tells us to take back the night, and they say that “it’s on us.” That’s easy to say when railing against some vague notion of “rape culture” or a dishonest caricature of Greek life. When confronted with Hollywood royalty and a political ally, that’s a lot harder. Let’s demand that they show us how much they mean it.”

Seems that these "higher standards"only come into play after the left's "heros" are finally unmasked and they find that the general public rises up.

Weinstein has been a huge contributor to Planned Parenthood for decades- Liberals lined up to be seen with good ole Harvey at the Galas....but now "... an effort to stop USC from accepting Weinstein’s “blood money."..." they decide it's blood money?

Don't worry Harvey Harvard will take it

Isn’t it amazing how Weinstein’s money is worthless now, but was perfectly acceptable before Hollywood finally outed him for the sleaze ball he has always been? What hypocrites they are.

Their sudden attack of morals is laughable.

Shame Hillary's standards aren't as high as U.S.C.'s
