Report: Illegal Aliens Forego Food Stamps to Stay off Trump’s Radar

Written by  AWR Hawkins

Illegal aliens in San Francisco have reportedly begun abstaining from food stamps in the belief it will help them avoid being detecting by the Trump administration. In fact, so many residents have turned against food stamps that “the city is concerned.”

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, local Human Services Agency director Trent Rhorer has noted that “households with one illegal” are wondering how much information will reach administration officials if they use food stamps, also known as CalFresh. Eligible families also wonder “whether the administration will cut food stamp benefits to immigrants.”

Rhorer is upset by the tension. He said, “[Eligible families] are putting their household in further jeopardy of not being able to pay the rent, or not being able to pay utility bills because they have to buy food. These are benefits they are entitled to receive, and they’re playing by the rules. They shouldn’t be penalized by this negative commentary coming out of the White House.”

In the last two months the number of households withdrawing from food stamps has been well above the norm. For example, the normal drop rate is less than 60 households a month, yet “150 households withdrew from the program in March and April alone.

The illegals shouldn't be penalized??? Why are illegals (or legal immigrants for that matter) be "awarded food stamps or any other "entitlements? It used to be that immigrants were not to be allowed to be a drain upon America but now it seems that anyone that wishes can sneak into our country and immediately get on welfare. Many of the illegals here obtain welfare, work "under the table", avoid taxes, and then send American dollars back to Mexico or whatever country they came from. I would urge a law to penalize any illegal that reentered the country after being deported. As it stands now illegals deported merely turn around and come back. We have alien criminals being deported 15 times back in America. It's time for America to start taking care of Americans first instead of supporting the illegals invading our country. Those in America wanting to live in a lawless/liberal country can move to Cuba, Venesuela, or some other liberal/communist country.

What they need to do ( illegals ) is get off American soil and go back to Mexico period!
And again they don't have to break up their family, take all of them too.

Your article title is misleading. It once again assumes illegal get the same benefits as US citizens-they do not. I do support kids under 18 being fed while in the US-otherwise we would be inhumane. All the other non-citizens we feed that are listed seem reasonable to me. The only illegals who can get food stamps are the following:

Non-citizens eligible with no waiting period

The following non-citizens are eligible with no waiting period:
Qualified alien children under 18.
Refugees admitted under section 207 of INA (includes victims of severe forms of trafficking).
Victims of Trafficking under the Trafficking Victims Protection Act of 2000.
Asylees under Section 208 of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA).
Deportation withheld under 243(h) or 241(b)(3) of INA.
Amerasian immigrants under 584 of the Foreign Operations, Export Financing and Related Programs Appropriations Act.
Cuban or Haitian entrants as defined in 501(e) of the Refugee Education Assistance Act of 1980.
Iraqi and Afghan special immigrants under Section 101(a)(27) of the INA.
Certain American Indians born abroad.
Members of Hmong or Highland Laotian tribes that helped the U.S. military during the Vietnam era, and who are legally living in the U.S., and their spouses or surviving spouses and unmarried dependent children.
Elderly individuals born on or before Aug. 22, 1931 and who lawfully resided in the U.S. on Aug. 22, 1996.
Lawful Permanent Residents in the U.S. and receiving government payments for disability or blindness.
Lawful Permanent Residents with a military connection (veteran, on active duty, or spouse or child of a veteran or active duty service member).
