Wayne Brady joins Chicago ‘Hamilton’ cast as Aaron Burr

Written by  KATE FELDMAN

Are you Aaron Burr, sir?

Wayne Brady has been cast in the Chicago run of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s hit musical “Hamilton” as Aaron Burr, producer Jeffrey Seller announced Monday.

The “Whose Line is it Anyway?” comedian will replace current star Joshua Henry, who is leaving to lead the national tour, from Jan.

17 through April 9.

The role was originated in the New York show by Leslie Odom, Jr., who won a 2016 Tony Award for best actor in a musical.

Brady has taken the stage before, playing the slick-talking Billy Flynn in “Chicago” on Broadway in 2004, as well as Lola in “Kinky Boots.”

He also won a Grammy for Best Traditional R&B Vocal Performance for his version of Sam Cooke’s “A Change is Gonna Come” off his 2008 debut album.

Brady joins a current cast that includes Ari Afsar as Eliza Hamilton, Miguel Cervantes as Alexander Hamilton, Alexander Gemignan as King George, Jonathan Kirkland as George Washington and Chris De'Sean Lee as Thomas Jefferson.
