During the August 27 Joe Rogan podcast in which Rodgers admitted that he purposefully misled the media on his vaccination status, Rodgers also blasted the NFL for its efforts to force players to take the jab.
Rodgers criticized the NFL for “virtue signaling” over the vax and added that the league sent out “stooges” to force compliance.
“Look how righteous our league is; we have 95% compliance with the vaccine,” Rodgers scoffed. “If you don’t, we’re going to send a stooge to your team to show you graphs of your vaccination percentage of your team compared to the rest of the league, which happened.”

“Day three of training camp, they sent this stooge in, and he showed these slides of your vaccination percentage as a team. What are you compared to the rest of the league? And I started asking him questions about liability. ‘Oh, I’m not a lawyer,'” Rodgers added.

“You’re in here talking about these different things and you don’t talk about anybody’s health issues,” he said. “There’s zero exemptions, you took out religious exemptions, you took out PEG exemptions, you took out anybody’s ability to have an opinion of I don’t want to do this.”

Rodgers said that the teams were compelled to comply and were told that they would have to relinquish games if they had a certain number of players and staffers out with positive COVID results. The league began telling teams of the forfeit rule in July of 2021.

Rodgers added that the NFL told players that they would also sacrifice their pay for any forfeited games as another way to force compliance.

Along those lines, before getting to his claims about his vax status, the Packers star explained that the media was using the vaccine question as a way to spur division in the NFL, as a way to get dirt on players so they could be attacked in the media.

“They were doing this, I called it a witch hunt, where they asked every player, ‘are you vaccinated?’ They were asking a bunch of big quarterbacks, and some guys said, ‘it’s personal or whatever. They didn’t want to talk about their status, and it almost guaranteed you weren’t vaccinated, right? So, then they were getting ripped,” Rodgers told Rogan. “And some guys said, ‘yes, I’m vaccinated,’ then they’d try to get them to say shit about their teammates who weren’t vaccinated — call their teammates out.”
