Rep. Cori Bush (D-MO) dodged a question on whether she would want to see President Joe Biden pursue another term in an interview with a local television station, an exchange underscoring Democrats’ growing discontent with the president within his own party.

As an interview with KSDK-TV drew to a close, Bush was questioned whether she wants to see Biden run for a second term.

When an aide interjected that Bush needed to go, the interviewer announced it is “an easy question” and shouldn’t take long to answer.

“I don't want to answer that question because we have not — that's not — yeah, I don’t want to answer that question,” Bush stated. “I mean, he's the president. He has the right to run for a second term. Absolutely. But I don't want to. I’d rather you not do that, answer that question.”

The exchange was reminiscent of a comment made earlier this month by Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) who was questioned regarding a third bid for the White House by former President Donald Trump.

“Look, it’s a free country. We’ve got 330 million people, and who knows who's going to start talking about ‘24?” McConnell explained to reporters. “It seems to me the American people are focused on ‘22 and ought to be because that is the next election, and they're going to send an important signal about which way they might want to go for '24 in November '22.”
