In a recent interview on ABC's "This Week," Arkansas Republican Senator Tom Cotton delivered a scathing critique of antisemitic, pro-Hamas demonstrators and the show's host, Jon Karl.

Cotton, a Harvard Law School graduate and Bronze Star recipient, took issue with Karl's attempts to misconstrue his words. The senator questioned President Joe Biden's tendency to equate antisemitism with so-called "Islamophobia."

"They're spray painting buildings with vile, antisemitic hate. (Biden) said, well, we shouldn't have antisemitism or hate speech in the abstract, or Islamophobia. Where are the encampments, Jon, on campuses spreading Islamophobia?" Cotton asked.

The senator further questioned Biden's apparent moral equivalence between antisemitic hate speech and a hypothetical spread of Islamophobia. "Why is Joe Biden so equivocal? Why does he have to draw moral equivalence between thousands of students who are setting up little Gazas all across America… engaging in hate speech against Jews, assaulting Jews, disobeying the law, and some fictional encampment that’s spreading Islamophobia?" Cotton queried.

Karl's attempt to equate Cotton's reference to "little Gazas" with the Gaza Strip backfired. "Well, they call themselves the Gaza Solidarity Encampment. They’re little Gazas," Cotton retorted. When Karl suggested that Cotton was mocking the situation in Gaza, the senator responded, "A lot of these people do — these people do deserve to be mocked."

Cotton also blamed Hamas for the famine in parts of Gaza and the civilian casualties there. "Which is 100 percent the fault of Hamas. Just like every civilian casualty in Gaza is 100 percent the fault of Hamas," he stated. He criticized Biden for pressuring Israel and its Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, to stand down in the face of attacks from Iran.

Cotton ended his interview by expressing contempt for the students on campuses supporting Hamas. "These students on campuses? They deserve our contempt. They also deserve our mockery," he said, criticizing liberal administrators and politicians for not taking action against these encampments.
