In a recent comedy performance, Jon Stewart, the renowned host of "The Daily Show," expressed his concerns about President Joe Biden's age and suitability for the presidency.

"I know liberals say, ‘Don’t say Joe Biden is old’ — don’t say what people see with their own eyes! You can say it, he can’t hear us,” Stewart humorously remarked during his performance at the Netflix Is a Joke Fest in Los Angeles, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

Stewart, known for his sharp political commentary, did not shy away from expressing his apprehensions about Biden's age. He said, “I know you know how f—ing old he is, and I know you don’t want to say it because Trump is so scary, but he’s so f—ing old…when you watch him on television, you’re nervous, aren’t ya?”

The comedian, however, clarified that his comments were not meant to undermine Biden's ability to contribute to society. “I’m not saying that Biden can’t contribute to society, he just shouldn’t be president,” Stewart added.

Stewart's remarks come at a time when the American electorate is faced with the prospect of choosing between Biden and former President Donald Trump in the upcoming November elections. “Why are we allowing this? And now we’re going to have a president that’s the two oldest people that have ever run for the office of the presidency,” Stewart questioned.

Stewart, who has been a vocal critic of Trump and Republicans, has recently drawn the ire of Democrat supporters with his critiques of Biden. Upon his return as the full-time host of Comedy Central’s “Daily Show” in February, he questioned the fitness for office of both Trump and Biden. “These two candidates…are both similarly challenged,” according to Stewart. “And it is not crazy to think that the oldest people in the history of the country to ever run for president might have some of these challenges.”

While Stewart criticized Trump for his legal troubles, he emphasized that this should not exempt Biden from scrutiny. “It actually makes him more subject to scrutiny,” according to Stewart.

Stewart's commentary sparked a backlash, with Mary Trump, the former president’s niece and a vocal critic, accusing him of fostering “a potential disaster for democracy.” Unfazed, Stewart humorously responded to the backlash, saying, “I guess as the saying goes, ‘Democracy dies in discussion,’” referencing the slogan of the Washington Post — “democracy dies in darkness.”

If Biden, currently 81, were to win re-election, he would be 82 by Inauguration Day and 86 by the end of his second term. Trump, on the other hand, is currently 77. Both candidates have had their fair share of verbal gaffes and memory lapses, adding fuel to the debate about their fitness for the presidency.
