Jeffrey Toobin, a legal analyst for CNN, has been providing in-depth analysis of the trial concerning former President Donald Trump's alleged hush money payments.

However, Toobin's own history with money and sex has been brought to the fore.

Toobin, 63, has been compared to Trump due to his own alleged attempts to silence a former lover with money. Reports suggest that Toobin offered to pay for an abortion to keep his affair with Casey Greenfield, the daughter of his CNN colleague Jeff Greenfield, a secret.

The Daily News reported in 2010 that Toobin, who was married at the time, had a tumultuous relationship with Greenfield. Sources cited by the publication claimed that Toobin offered Greenfield money for an abortion when she became pregnant in 2008.

"When Casey wouldn't have an abortion, Jeff told her she was going to regret it, that she shouldn't expect any help from him," a source told the tabloid. Despite being an advocate for abortion rights, Toobin, who is 13 years older than Greenfield, reportedly refused to acknowledge the child as his own and only agreed to pay child support after a Manhattan Family Court judge ordered him to do so.

Toobin is married to Amy McIntosh, a former executive at Verizon and the Zagat Survey, and they have two children together. Another woman has reportedly accused Toobin of making inappropriate sexual advances at a party. Greenfield, who is now a matrimonial and family lawyer, declined to comment on the matter.

Despite these controversies, Toobin has managed to maintain his position at CNN. However, in 2020, he was fired from the New Yorker, where he had worked for 27 years, after he was caught masturbating during a Zoom call with the organization's senior staff. This incident, which Toobin referred to as a "disaster in my life," led to him being off-air on CNN for a year before he was eventually reinstated.

Rick Sanchez, a former CNN anchor who left the network in 2010, criticized the network's decision to keep Toobin on air, calling it "typical hypocrisy that's a constant at CNN." Sanchez told The Post, "They protect Toobin and others like him no matter what they have done or do, while those who don't fit their ideological position or their presumed social or pseudo intellectual status are assailed, attacked and/or eliminated. So smug, so self-satisfied! Funny, it’s so easy to see, too bad they don’t."
