In a recent development, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) issued subpoenas in Dolton, a suburb of Chicago, where Mayor Tiffany Henyard is embroiled in allegations of corruption, as reported by Fox 32 Chicago.

Henyard, who refers to herself as the "supermayor" of Dolton and also serves as the Thornton Township Supervisor, has been labeled the "worst mayor in America" by detractors. The accusations against her include misuse of police power, extravagant spending of taxpayer money on personal luxuries, and an alleged sexual assault incident involving one of her allies.

On Friday, four FBI agents arrived in Dolton around 2:30 p.m. to serve two federal subpoenas. The first subpoena demanded employment records, personnel files, and disciplinary reports for 25 Dolton employees, including three police officers and Keith Freeman, the village administrator and Henyard's top aide. Freeman, who was recently charged with bankruptcy fraud, was the focus of the second subpoena, which sought records of all companies associated with him and potential connections to the village.

"The House of Cards are collapsing," said Burt Odelson, the Legislative Counsel for the Village of Dolton Board of Trustees, in a statement to Fox 32. "I think the government is taking action." However, the FBI did not disclose further details about the subpoenas, and Henyard herself was not served.

Earlier this year, reports emerged that the FBI was investigating Henyard after six individuals, including business owners, a former village employee, and one or more public officials, reportedly spoke to the agency about her alleged misconduct. Dolton trustee Tammie Brown expressed relief at the news of the FBI's involvement, stating, "Months and months and months, we have been begging for someone to come out here and actually investigate as to what's actually going on out here."

In response to the ongoing controversy, the Village of Dolton recently voted to hire former Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot as a "Special Investigator" to probe Henyard's conduct. This decision followed Henyard's veto of the board's request to initiate a federal investigation into her alleged misuse of funds. Lightfoot is being compensated at a rate of $400 per hour to gather information on Henyard’s alleged financial mismanagement and possible state and federal violations.

Henyard, who has previously played the race card in the face of her scandals, has been living a lavish lifestyle with a combined salary of nearly $300,000, more than the state's governor. This is despite the median income of Dolton's 23,000 residents being a mere $24,000. Fox News Digital previously reported that Henyard frequently uses beauty vendors and insists "God chose me." She even met with President Biden in January. However, her alleged misconduct, described as a "real life Parks and Rec situation," may finally be catching up to her.
