The Village of Dolton, Illinois, has once again been thrust into the national spotlight following a contentious town hall meeting, where residents confronted the embattled Mayor Tiffany Henyard.

Henyard has been embroiled in a series of scandals, including allegations of misusing police for retaliatory business raids and squandering taxpayer money on personal luxuries, such as trips to Las Vegas.

Last month, Henyard reportedly vetoed a resolution by the board to investigate her spending, following accusations of financial mismanagement. While the FBI is said to be already investigating Henyard for alleged misuse of the local police force, the board's resolution sought to extend this investigation to her spending of the town's funds.

In the most recent town hall meeting, Henyard heightened security measures, limiting access to the building to such an extent that many residents were left outside. According to FOX 32 Chicago, those who managed to pass the new security checks seized the opportunity to voice their grievances against the mayor.

One resident, a cancer patient, accused Henyard of stealing money from a cancer foundation. "How dare you steal, and I helped you with your campaign, how dare you steal from us? I have to buy my wigs, are you going to reimburse me for the wigs that I've been spending my money on?" she asked. The woman was seemingly referring to the "Tiffany Henyard CARES Foundation," a cancer charity that is reportedly under scrutiny by Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul for lack of transparency in its financial reports.

Cara Wilson, another resident who has sued the Dolton police department over the shooting of her 19-year-old daughter, criticized Henyard for her lack of empathy. Wilson claimed that Henyard refused to meet her gaze because she did not "give a damn." She also alleged that Henyard has a criminal record, unlike her daughter.

Several residents called for Henyard's resignation. One resident expressed her disappointment in the mayor's conduct, saying, "Mayor, you need to step down because you have disgraced this village, you really have, everybody up there need to go. We need to know what's happening with our money." She also referenced an alleged sexual assault and retaliation scandal that occurred during Henyard's controversial Las Vegas trip.

In response to the residents' accusations, Henyard criticized the media, accusing them of exploiting the town's political disputes for clickbait. Dolton Police Chief Lewis Lacey stated his willingness to speak to the media before announcing that the meeting was being adjourned for safety reasons.

Fox News Digital reached out to Mayor Henyard's office for comment. A spokesperson responded, "Access to the Dolton Village Hall has been restructured to protect our staff due to the overwhelming amount of threats of violence as a result of the continuous misinformation portrayed by the media and internet bloggers who are using Dolton as a means to generate ratings and revenue, i.e. clickbait. Our staff and elected officials have received several disturbing communications via email, social media, phone calls and visitors from across the country. As such, our security protocols have changed."

The spokesperson further added, "The safety of our staff elected officials and residents is our top priority and we will continue to work with law enforcement to monitor this situation as it progresses."
