In a recent development, Democratic Representative Rashida Tlaib of Michigan has accused Israel of intentionally killing seven humanitarian aid workers from World Central Kitchen (WCK) in Gaza.

"The Israeli government knew that humanitarian workers were in this vehicle," Tlaib stated in an Instagram Story on Tuesday. The post was accompanied by a video of a severely damaged vehicle with a gaping hole in its roof, partially obliterating what seemed to be a vivid WCK logo.

Tlaib's subsequent post displayed a graphic image of what looked like a deceased aid worker, juxtaposed with a photo of presumably the same individual when alive. "Don't look away. The government of Israel killed seven humanitarian workers (a war crime). They knew the coordinates of the workers and used it to kill them," Tlaib asserted. Fox News Digital has reached out to Tlaib for additional comments.

Israel's retaliation to the Hamas attack on October 7 has caused a rift within the Democratic Party, with an increasing faction urging the Biden administration to curtail aid to the Middle Eastern ally. Tlaib, a vocal critic of Biden amid the conflict, has also utilized her Instagram platform to censure the president for augmenting weapons and funding to Israel.

On Tuesday morning, she reposted an article from the left-leaning "The Intercept" titled "1 in 5 Wisconsin Democrats said Gaza war will impact their primary vote." Tlaib commented, "Biden won Wisconsin by 0.63% in 2020. The [Biden campaign] would rather lose to an indicted criminal, twice impeached candidate than say no to genocide," alluding to former President Trump, the 2024 Republican presidential nominee. Fox News Digital has sought a response from the Biden campaign on this statement.

The seven deceased aid workers, hailing from Poland, Australia, the United Kingdom, and a dual U.S.-Canada citizen, along with a Palestinian, were killed when their vehicle convoy was targeted by an airstrike after delivering food in central Gaza, according to WCK. The organization stated that their vehicles were distinctly marked with its name and logo, and their movements were coordinated with the Israeli Defense Force (IDF) in advance.

WCK, a global nonprofit committed to providing fresh meals to individuals in war zones, natural disasters, and other humanitarian crises, along with its founder, renowned chef Jose Andres, have both held Israel accountable for the fatalities. WCK CEO Erin Gore labeled the strike as "unforgivable," expressing in a statement, "I am heartbroken and appalled that we – World Central Kitchen and the world – lost beautiful lives today because of a targeted attack by the IDF."

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu subsequently issued a statement regarding an "unintentional" IDF strike. "Unfortunately, on the last day, there was a tragic event of our forces unintentionally hitting innocent people in the Gaza Strip," Netanyahu admitted. "This happens in war; we are checking thoroughly, we are in contact with the governments, and we will do everything to prevent this from happening again." The IDF has pledged to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the incident.
