In the wake of recent footage showing migrants overwhelming the southern border and overpowering Texas National Guard members, there has been a significant shift in the sentiments of Texans towards the TEXIT movement, says a prominent advocate of the cause.

Daniel Miller, the president of the Texas Nationalist Movement, in an interview with Fox News Digital, described the border crisis as the most glaring evidence of the federal government's incompetence. "The most public and visible sign at this moment is not only the federal government's ineptitude in handling the border and immigration issues, but their active role in facilitating what is undeniably a collapse of our border with Mexico," Miller stated.

The TEXIT movement, which advocates for Texas's secession from the United States, has been gaining momentum in the face of the ongoing border crisis, according to Miller. He attributes this shift in favor of TEXIT to President Biden's handling of immigration. "I believe it has unequivocally shifted the perspective of people towards the TEXIT or pro-TEXIT stance. The reason is straightforward - Texans are coming to terms with the fact that if we desire a rational and sensible immigration policy and a secure border, we must achieve it as a self-governing, independent nation, akin to 200 other countries worldwide," Miller explained.

Miller urged TEXIT skeptics to consider the privileges that come with being a self-governing nation, including the right to establish its own immigration policy. "One of these rights is the ability to secure their own border and formulate their own immigration policy," he said.

Miller emphasized that the federal government is the most significant obstacle to Texas securing its own border. "Every effort we make to decisively curb criminal activity on our southern border is being thwarted at every turn by the federal government," he said.

Miller cited the numerous lawsuits filed by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and Governor Greg Abbott against the Biden Administration's Department of Homeland Security as evidence of the federal government's obstruction to Texas's border defense. "Our Attorney General Ken Paxton had to go to court to defend Texas's right to secure our own border," Miller said. "Our current governor, Greg Abbott, when he was attorney general, claimed to have sued the federal government more than any other attorney general in Texas history."

Miller criticized the federal government's increasing interference, accusing it of shirking its responsibilities while hindering Texas's attempts to secure its border. "Our only option is to do what the 200 other self-governing, independent nations do around the world and reclaim our right to defend our border, set our immigration policy, and address it in a way that makes sense to us."

Since joining the Texas Nationalist Movement, Miller said he has witnessed the "invasion" at the border and an "out of control" federal government. "What is happening on the southern border is, by any definition, an invasion, and it is all being facilitated by an out of touch, overbearing, out of control federal government," Miller said.

Miller noted that recent independent polls in Texas indicate that residents are becoming more receptive to the idea of a TEXIT. "What we have seen is this growing realization among the people of Texas that at the end of the day, Texas would be far better off being governed from under 180,000 pages of federal laws, rules, and regulations administered by those 2.5 million unelected bureaucrats."

Miller concluded by emphasizing that the key to success lies in the understanding that Texans are the best people to govern Texas. "Success lies in understanding that the best people to govern Texas are obviously Texans."
